  1. Brian Membrey says

Francis and Florence (nee George) appear to have lived in Port Melbourne (possibly with Florence’s parents) after their marriage in 1914; their two sons Bernard Francis (1914) and George William (1915) both born in Port. Balgownie PLACE in Northcote may have been Francis’ parents address : he and several siblings were born in Northcote and he was one of three casualties to be interred in the small local Cemetery which by that time was restricted to family plots.
