    Montgomery, married with two daughters was invalided home and discharged as medically unfit with a hernia condition in October, 1916; they were awarded pensions which were cancelled when he managed to re-enlist 19 October, 1918 – he served 67 days in camp before discharged as part of the general release on 24 December following the demobilisation of the A.I.F.
