1195   (Brother : Thomas O’BRIEN (parents deceased), born Ballarat, educated ?  He enlisted as a 32-year-old labourer, a brother at the Star Hotel, Collinwood, later at 10 Liardet Street, Port Melbourne  O’Brien suffered wounds to the back at Gallipoli on 12 August, 1915 and was invalided to No 1 Australian General Hospital at Heliopolis where he died just over a month later as a combination of the wounds and dysentery.
