Parents: Frederick and Mrs Annie MOWBRAY, born Port Melbourne, educated Nott Street SS, Port Melbourne. He enlisted as 22-year-old driver with his father at 33 Bridge Street, later 117 Pickles Street, circular returned from that address. Mowbray died of multiple wounds to the back and legs in Newcastle Hospital, England after being invalided. Death Notice in the Port Melbourne Standard 28 July, 1917 notes five siblings.
