Parents: Edward and Mrs Elizabeth Ann MADDOCKS, born Port Melbourne, educated Box Hill SS, also Central Business College and Australia Coaching College. He enlisted as a 21-year-old clerk with his parents in Box Hill. He was posted Missing, 19 July, 1916, later confirmed killed in action as at that date by a Court of Enquiry in July, 1917, “presumed buried in No Man’s Land”.
