Parents: Hugh (late) and Rebecca LEWIS, brother, 736, Hugh LEWIS, killed in action 7 August, 1916. Born Port Melbourne, educated Nott Street SS. Percy enlisted as a 19-year-old labourer with his mother as next of kin, 254 Bay Street. The circular was returned from the same address for both brothers, Percy was eight years the younger. A Death Notice in the Port Melbourne Standard, 26 January, 1918 has brothers George (returned wounded, married and in South Melbourne, and Charles, injured on duty while in camp at Geelong and discharged. Posted Missing on 11 April, 1917, declared killed in action on that date by a Court of Inquiry, December, 1917.
