Father: Richard ?, wife: Mrs Margaret KERNICK, born Port Melbourne. Family shown only as Fishermen’s Bend. Kernick enlisted as a 39-year-old stevedore with his wife at 76 Dow Street. He died of heart failure on 3 April, 1920 at 11 Australian General Hospital, Caulfield after returning in August, 1918 with a severely wounded hand. Included on the AWM Roll of Honour, but no circular returned; interred Coburg General Cemetery.
