Parents: William Henry and Mrs Catherine Agnes ELLIOTT, Sister: Mrs Catherine O’DDNNELL, Brother: 1791, Thomas George ELLIOTT, died of wounds, 18 April, 1918. Born Port Melbourne, educated St Joseph’s, Port Melbourne, 44 Cruikshank Street? A 26-year-old labourer, he enlisted with his sister as next of kin, then in Clifton Hill. Circular returned by his mother, c/o Convent of the Good Shepherd, Abbotsford nominating Clifton Hill as place of association. The Port Melbourne Standard in reporting his death 10 June, 1916 suggested his father was late of the South Melbourne gasworks and he was a grandson of the late Senior-Constable BERREEN of Port Melbourne, a Death Notice placing the latter family in Station Street. Brother, 7478, Harold Berreen ELLIOTT enlisted from Yarram also with Mrs O’DONNELL as next of kin.
