Private, 24 Infantry, died of wounds, 4 May, 1917, France, aged 24, commemorated Grevillers British Cemetery, France.

Parents: James and Hannah BOYD, born Port Melbourne, educated Nott Street SS, 60 Derham Street. Enlisted as a 22-year-old slaughterman with his father at 233 Ross Street, circular returned from that address, brothers 4138, Daniel Douglas BOYD returned wounded May, 1918; 2170, William BOYD returned wounded August, 1916. Noted as one of three casualties at the unveiling of the City Mission Honour Board, Standard, 8 September, 1917.

    “I have seen his grave in the Military Cemetery at Grevillers. There is a cross with his name on. “Died of Wounds” is on the cross. He was a particular pal of mine. His name is Angus and he was working for a butcher at Cranbourne, Victoria when I first met him, that was about six months before War started. He was in A. Coy., 3 Plat”. (A. BG.     BOYD. -At the Third Australian Clearing Station, died of wounds, Private Angus Boyd, loved nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boyd, of Spring street, Port Melbourne, cousin of Mrs. M. Watt, of Nott street, Port Melbourne.
