Macdonald enlisted with his mother at Kinglake West as next of kin, occupation shown as an orchardist/labourer. Siblings Ivy and Keith, died of wounds 18 September 1917, 17th Casualty Clearing Station, Belgium and commemorated on the Whittlesea War Memorial.
